# Lifetime extension

The Vault resets the APR every 6 months.

You can extend the lifetime of your Vault for an extra 6 months by **exchanging 444 $DMS**.

The extended time will prolong the **same financial privileges for an extra 6 months** The Vault’s life can be extended only once unless new extension options become available.

> E.g., Bob extends his Vault’s life for extra 6 months. His friends Alice and Frank deposited some funds in Bob’s Vault too.

> After 6 months:
>
> * Alice withdraws her deposit
> * Frank does nothing
> * Bob adds extra funds in his Vault
>
> After 1 year:
>
> * Alice has no cryptos in the Vault, nor any related new returns
> * Frank gained extra 6 months of capital gains on his initial investment
> * Bob gained extra 6 months of capital gains on the initial sums and on the added funds,
>
>   according to his Vault’s parameters. He also gained an extra 0,5% on Frank’s funds for the extended 6 months, as he is the Vault’s owner.
